Department of Interactive Media launches IMD Brownbag Series

The first session of the Brownbag Series on "Digital Media for Health Surveillance and Promotion" organized by the Department of Interactive Media (IMD) was launched on 25 November, 2022. Three scholars from IMD shared research ideas and reported the progress of their ongoing projects:

1. Professor Bu ZHONG, Department Head - Public health crises revealed in Google Trends data: Tracking mental health, social distress and help-seeking behaviour
2. Dr Ivan LI, Assistant Professor - Towards understanding vaccination stances on social media
3. Dr Jolie SHI, Assistant Professor - Combining persuasive AI and explainable AI to promote mental help-seeking

The Brownbag Series was developed by IMD to create a sense of community and connectedness among IMD colleagues and the School in general through informal discussion of recent research projects and sharing of potential research ideas by colleagues.
