HKBU and ATV to host The 9th Global Chinese Universities Student Film and Television Festival Awards Presentation Ceremony this Friday
The 9th Global Chinese Universities Student Film and Television Festival Awards organised by the Academy of Film of the School of Communication of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) will be held this Friday. The event, which has been successfully positioned as "the University Oscars" in the Chinese-speaking community, attracted 76 entries from 44 universities competing for 13 awards. Details of the Awards Presentation Ceremony, with Asia Television Ltd. as a co-organiser, are as follows:

The award presenters will include Mr. Cheung Tung-joe, Mr. Liu Kai-chi, Mr. Lam Chiu-wing, Ms. Siu King-lo, Mr. Lau Tin-chi, Mr. David Chiang, Mr. Lee Lik-chee, Mr. Herman Yau, Mr. Ng Sze-yeun, Ms. Cecelia Yip, Mr. Terry Tong, Mr. Wilfred Wong, and winners of the Miss Asia 2011 and Mr. Asia 2011 titles.
Mr. Cheung Tung-joe (Chairman), Mr. Terry Tong, Mr. Peter Yung, Mr. Albert Cheung, Mr. Lau Shing-hon and Mr. Choi Kam-chuen formed the panel of judges. They will select the winners of the Golden Award, the Best Short Dramatic Film Award, the Best Director Award for Short Dramatic Film, the Best Creativity Award for Short Dramatic Film, the Best Script Award for Short Dramatic Film, the Best Documentary Award, the Best Animation Award, the Best Experimental Film Award, the Jury's Award, the two Outstanding Documentary Awards, the Outstanding Animation Award, and the Outstanding Experimental Film Award.
This year, more than 80 students will attend the Festival. Apart from representatives of the film schools in Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, film schools from the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, the Czech Republic and Korea have been invited to send their outstanding student films and representatives to share with students in the Greater China Region.
