School of Communication holds the 5th Staff Development Day for scholars to exchange ideas and insights

The School of Communication held the 5th Staff Development Day on 11 June, 2020, providing a platform for exchange ideas and insights among 25 faculty of the School on various topics.

It was a day with five sessions and a workshop with its morning session covering topics about developing course-based research in undergraduate teaching. The afternoon session included a sharing on Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) conducted by Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning. In the workshop, participants had the platform to brainstorm ideas of incorporating research elements in teaching and learning.

Professor Kara Chan, Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) of the School of Communication and coordinator of the Staff Development Day, stated that it was very encouraging to learn that the colleague participants found the day very useful for their teaching pedagogy development and some were also much more motivated to apply for Teaching Development Grants (TDGs) and other teaching initiatives.
