Communication alumni honoured for distinguished contribution to society

A number of HKBU members were honoured by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on 1 July for their outstanding service to the community.

Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation Dr Vincent Lo was awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal, while Honorary Court Member Dr Eddy Li was bestowed with the Gold Bauhinia Star.

Honorary Director of the HKBU Foundation Mr Herman Hu and Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation Dr Tan Siu-lin were granted the Silver Bauhinia Star.

Member of the Entrepreneur Committee and Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation Dr Leung Lun and Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation Mr Lee Sing-pak were awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star.

Senior Members of the HKBU Foundation Professor Leung Mee-lee and Mr Frederick Lynn were presented with the Medal of Honour.

School Principal of HKBU Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School Dr Benjamin Chan received the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service.

Meanwhile, Sponsoring Member of the HKBU Foundation Ms Chan Oi-ching, Council Member Dr Jennifer Ng, Director of the HKBU Foundation Ir Dr Derrick Pang, Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation Mr Wong Kwun-keong, Honorary Vice-President of the HKBU Foundation Dr Wong Man-li, Chinese Language and Literature alumna Dr Choi Yuk-lin, European Studies alumnus Mr Chris Ip and Communication alumnus Mr Yuen Chi-wai, were appointed as Justices of the Peace.

Another Communication alumnus, Mr Yang Joe-tsi, received the Hong Kong Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
