Communication academic named national top ten young scholar in social computing


Dr Ivan Li, Assistant Professor of the Department of Interactive Media in the School of Communication, has been selected as one of the ten “2022 Up-and-Coming Social Computing Young Scholars” at the 7th China National Conference on Big Data and Computing.

As the only awardee from Hong Kong, Dr Li presented a research report entitled “Towards Understanding COVID-19 Vaccination Stances Based on Interaction Graph: A Novel Dataset and its Applications” at the awardees’ forum.

The Conference theme was “Digital Transforming and Common Prosperity”, and it was organised by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence. The Young Scholars award aims to encourage young talent in the fields of social computing and social intelligence, and it also hopes to expand the impact and influence of interdisciplinary research.
