School of Communication faculty win the HKBU Knowledge Transfer Award



Dr. Timothy Fung, Assistant Professor of the Department of Communication Studies, and Dr. Kelvin Lee, Senior Lecturer of the Academy of Film, have won the HKBU Knowledge Transfer Award for their knowledge transfer partnership project ”Say Your Wish, Save A Life” (「言」續生命) – an animated video integrates the professional knowledge of academics and doctors, which aims at transferring the important message of organ donation as continuation of life and encouraging citizens to notify their families proactively about their wish of donating the organs to avoid any misunderstanding.


The judging panel praised Dr. Fung’s project for enhancing youngsters’ willingness of family discussion on organ donation by using narrative animation has contributed greatly to public health and public service. It is an exemplary case of research by HKBU faculty members which makes huge impact outside academia.
The HKBU Knowledge Transfer Award is established in 2014. It is sponsored by the University Grants Committee (UGC) Knowledge Transfer (KT) funding and administered by the Knowledge Transfer Committee (KTC) via the Knowledge Transfer Office HKBU (KTO).
