Telephone Surveys
Computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) system is used in telephone surveys. The ACR Lab now is set up with 20 CATI stations with one server room and a control panel for supervision and monitoring. Questionnaires will be computerized in the system and interviewers will be specially trained in advanced.
Online Surveys
Computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI) is mainly used in online surveys. The ACR Lab is now using Qualtrics, a leading industry provider of software solutions for online surveys. Questionnaires in different formats will be computerized in the system and the interviewees are asked to follow a script provided in a website.
Street Surveys
The ACR Lab also provides services in conducting interviews via street intercepts in Hong Kong. As face-to-face interview is applied in street surveys, interviewers will be provided with special training in order to improve their communication skills and efficiency.
Focus Group & In-depth Interviews
Focus group and in-depth interviews are the most common methods of qualitative research for in-depth information collection, in which data is collected from a comparatively small group of respondents. The lab will provide the arrangement including venue, interview recording, experienced interviewers and others.
Content Analysis
Content analysis is a common research method that examines any forms of content by counting various aspects in a wide range of texts. The ACR Lab offers professional training for coders with reviews of data to secure the accuracy of analysis.

Web Mining
The Lab is equipped with ePOP, the state-of-the-art real time online web mining platform that is characterized by
a) a capacity for management of massive data;
b) speedy search of online news, forum posts, and statistics; and
c) ready compatibility with various existing software for content analysis.
Computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI)
CATI is a structured system of microdata collection by telephone which helps to speed up the collection and editing of data with high accuracy. Now 20 CATI stations have been set in the Lab with one server room and a control panel for supervision and monitoring.
Computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI)
CAWI is used in conducting program questionnaire survey, in which the interviewees follow a script provided in a website. One of its major advantages is its ability to freely add links to other web pages with visual and audio content. The Lab is now using Qualtrics, a leading industry provider of software solutions for online surveys.
