Ms. Ann CHOI 蔡少清

Lecturer

Having studied photography in Germany and the United States, Ann returned to Hong Kong to build her career in the multimedia industry. Ann received her Bachelor of Arts in Applied & Media Arts, organized by Hong Kong Arts School and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and her Master of Science in Multimedia & Entertainment Technology from School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Over the years, she has gained extensive knowledge and experience through her roles as a television producer, program executive producer, photographer, researcher, scriptwriter and magazine editor. Ann is also an independent film director.

Her directorial debut film, “ah pig ah dog.com”, was featured in the Absolute Independent 2005 festival, hosted by the Hong Kong Film Critics Organization and commissioned by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Screened at Broadway Cinematheque, Yaumatei, “ah pig ah dog.com” was the only independent film in the film festival that attracted a full house attendance.

Ann’s gift is in seizing each remarkable moment with her camera. Her artistic eye blends with her technical skills to capture the memory forever. Her stunning spontaneous photography style makes her pictures full of vibrancy and feeling.

Ann’s sense of composition in photography creates the sensation that each still is part of a movie and a poem. Each frame encompasses a scene, an idea and an emotion. Whether the setting is formal or informal, there is always Ann’s pervasive sense of style and originality.

Ann believes the “picture speaks”, for wedding photography is not only about showing each precious moment itself, but also about setting it in its proper context. Only then can the whole vivid story be revealed: photographic evidence with an exciting sense of real life.
