Call for Abstracts - IAMCR 2024 Preconference: Navigating Truth: Progress and Prospects of Fact-Checking and Media Literacy

The HKBU Fact Check, led by Dr Stephanie Tsang, Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies, is organising a preconference at the IAMCR 2024 conference on the theme, “Navigating Truth: Progress and Prospects of Fact-Checking and Media Literacy”. The preconference creates a forum for the exploration of the evolving landscape of information in a digital age, where the lines between truth and falsehood are often blurred as well as the exposition of the role that media literacy plays in navigating the complex terrain of (mis/dis) information. “This event aims to facilitate a robust exchange of ideas and insights to address the challenges posed by the evolving information landscape”, Tsang states. “As such, we extend our invitation to scholars, practitioners, educators, and policymakers alike, encouraging their participation and contributions towards comprehending the nuances of misinformation, fact-checking, and media literacy”.
