School of Communication presents "Photojournalism Exhibition"

Showcasing the photo-taking skills of staff, alumni and students of the School of Communication, the "Photojournalism Exhibition" opened today (9 March) at a ceremony officiated by Professor Ringo Ma, Acting Dean of the School of Communication.

The images featured in this three week-long exhibition cover a wide range of topics about the lives of different people, from the illegal structure controversy surrounding a chief executive candidate to trips made by students to the Czech Republic and Taiwan.

In his speech, Professor Ringo Ma stressed the importance of ethical issues in photojournalism. "Ethics is especially emphasised in photojournalism because photos are more abstract than text, and they can generate many meanings. Photojournalists, to the best of their knowledge, should make sure that their photos are non-distorted, impartial and good representations of the event they want to report."

The exhibition is on show until 30 March (Friday) at the Koo Ming Kown Exhibition Gallery, G/F Communication and Visual Arts Building.
