Two Research Postgraduate students garner HKSAR Reaching Out Awards

Shivangi Asthana (left) was awarded the 2023 HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund – Reaching Out Award for her paper titled “Trust and Distrust toward Corporate Social Advocacy on #StopAsianHate: An empirical approach from an employee relations perspective” which was presented at the 73rd Annual International Communication Association (ICA) Conference, held in Canada.

Anilesh Kumar (right) also received the Award for his paper titled “State nationalism or popular nationalism? Analysing media coverage of TikTok ban on mainstream Indian TV news channels”. Moreover, the paper earned him the Second Prize for the Best Student Research Paper at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication Conference (AEJMC), 2023 held in the USA.
