Admission for 2020 Entry
Broad-based Admission (JUPAS code JS2310) Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising Programmes
The School adopts a broad-based admission policy for students who want to study Journalism,Public Relations or Advertising. These students are not required to choose a major before admission. Instead, in their first year of studies, they are required to take core courses that introduce them to multimedia storytelling techniques, media law and ethics as well as other courses that give them a flavor of different fields of communication studies. Only after taking these courses will they be assigned a major according to their personal preferences and academic performance. In year two, they will be further assigned to a Concentration based on their choices and scores in relevant courses.
Programme-based Admission
Animation and Media Arts (JS2320) , Film and Television (JS2330)
Students who want to study film are directly admitted to its two Concentrations under a programme-based admission policy. Apart from meeting the University’s entrance requirements, students are required to demonstrate their potential for studying the respective fields by submitting a personal portfolio and passing an interview.
