Academy of Film organises masterclass to celebrate 25th anniversary of A Brighter Summer Day

The Academy of Film of the School of Communication organised “A Brighter Summer Day – 25th Anniversary” masterclass to celebrate the silver jubilee of this Taiwanese New Wave masterpiece.

Mr Chang Chen and Mr Chang Guo-chu, who played the main characters, and the film’s producer Mr Yu Wei-yen were invited from Taiwan as guest speakers and more than 400 students took part in the class.

At the masterclass, highlights of the film were played and precious production stills were shown to the audience. The guests shared with the students the memorable moments they had during the filmmaking process and said they were grateful for having the chance to take part in such an iconic film made by the late Mr Edward Yang, who is fondly remembered as a leading Taiwanese director.

	The Academy of Film hosts the masterclass entitled “A Brighter Summer Day -- 25th Anniversary”.
