Film scholar chosen to exhibit artwork in Beijing Design Week
Mr Wade Chan, Lecturer of the Academy of Film of the School of Communication, was recently selected to participate in the Beijing Design Week “2015 City‧International Public Service Poster Exhibition” organised by the National Ministries and the Municipal Government of Beijing. His creative poster artwork entitled “Divergence HK” was exhibited at the Art Gallery of Capital Normal University.
A panel of judges selected 400 works of art for display at the exhibition from a total of 1,653 submissions by 629 designers from 25 countries this year. Participating designers had to design their work based on a variety of topics related to social welfare, such as smart city and sustainable development, ecological civilisation, traditional culture, energy conservation and pollution reduction, equitable education, network civilisation, road safety and so forth.
Beijing Design Week is an annual citywide event that attracts over 2,000 designers, institution representatives and industry experts, over 5 million visitors, and more than 100 accredited news media outlets. It has become the largest and most influential platform in Asia for display, promotion, exchange and trading of creative designs.
