More than 200 secondary students were given a comprehensive introduction to the wide variety of careers in the communication industry as well as information about HKBU's communication programmes at a seminar entitled "Realising Your Dreams through Communication Professions" co-organised by the School of Communication and the Hok Yau Club last Saturday (11 November).
Three alumni speakers shared their invaluable experiences with the students: Ms. Lisa Hui, Commercial Director of RoadShow; Mr. Chan Wing-kam, Producer at RTHK, and Mr. Chan Wai-li, Feature Reporter at Cable TV.
Professor Chen Ling, Acting Dean of the School of Communication, said: "The School of Communication is committed to elevating education standards, responding rapidly to community needs, and educating students to be high calibre professionals. We believe this seminar has provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of both programmes and careers in communication."
Over the decades, the School of Communication has built on its success in nurturing not only professionals in the journalism, TV and film industries, but also in advertising, public relations and management, Professor Chen added. |
