Communication PhD Students win Best Student Paper Award
Vincent Huang and Piper Liu, PhD candidates at HKBU’s School of Communication, were recently presented with a best student paper award in Organisational Communication at the 67th International Communication Association Annual Conference held in San Diego, USA.
Their paper, “Ties that work: Investigating the relationships among coworker connections, work-related Facebook utility, online social capital, and employee outcomes,” explored how network characteristics and Facebook work-related utility could contribute to online social capital and employee job satisfaction and performance.
The paper was one of three student papers to receive the highest scores in the competitive review processes conducted by the conference. It was also published in a leading academic journal, Computers in Human Behavior. Please click here to view the article.
