Journalism alumnus scoop three awards at Hang Seng Management College Business Journalism Awards



Two alumni of the Department of Journalism and the Master of Arts in International Journalism Studies programme scooped 3 awards at the Hang Seng Management College Business Journalism Awards.

Alumnus Philip Wei Yiyang, a graduate of the Master of Arts in International Journalism Studies programme (Business and Finance Journalism), was awarded Gold Award of the Best Financial News Reporting and Silver Award of the Best Business & Corporate News Reporting in Text category for his work on blockchain and its application in finance and banking sector.

The other awardee, Alumnus Jason Cheng Long-ching who is a 2016 graduate of Broadcast Journalism of the Department of Journalism, won Silver Award of the Best Property Market News Reporting in TV Programme category for the co-work on how the prices of local small flats is being affected under the downward pressure from the private residential property market.

The Hang Seng Management Business Journalism Awards, established by the School of Communication of Hang Seng Management College, aims to recognize professional journalists who have produced outstanding journalistic works on business, economic and financial issues. This year, the Awards received more than 400 entries.
