Communication scholar named fellow of international public relations research centre

Dr Regina Chen, Assistant Professor of the Department of Communication Studies, has been selected as a research fellow of the newly established Behavioral Insights Research Center (BIRC).

BIRC was established by the Institute for Public Relations (IPR), one of the most influential research organisations in the field of public relations and corporate communication in the US.

Dr Chen said she is thrilled and honored to work with IPR on research that empirically examines how and why people think and behave the way they do through the organisational discourses in the ever-changing business and media environment. “My role in BIRC is to validate research results from the Chinese perspective so that they can best inform public relations and strategic communication practices to benefit the industry and society,” she added.

Insights garnered from the research conducted by fellows will be shared with industry professionals through various channels, such as website, academic journals and presentations at conferences and events over the next year.
