Integrated Communication Management graduate awarded scholarship for excellence

Mon Lo Hiu-man (fresh graduate of Integrated Communication Management ) has been awarded a scholarship under the Education Bureau’s Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme to pursue a Master of Communications and Media Studies at Monash University, Australia.

Mon is delighted to receive the scholarship and would like to express her sincere gratitude to HKBU for its dedication to cultivating students. She said HKBU offered her comprehensive opportunities for personal development, for example, the Professional Mentorship Programme helped her determine her goals and career interests. “During my studies at HKBU, I had a valuable opportunity to work as an intern at a well-known advertising and public relations company, and afterwards became a part-time staff, a position I held until my graduation. I gained a real understanding of the fast-paced world of public relations, the industry norms, clients’ requests and key attributes of public relations practitioners. In addition, I became aware of my own shortcomings which I needed to work on.”

Through the master’s programme, Mon wants to enhance her knowledge on networking apps and media management which she considers important to a career in media and public relations.
